Chris Anderson’s (editor of Wired magazine) book
“The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More”
will hit shelves on Tuesday. Dan Mitchell of NYT has an interesting
article in this regard. He talks about a trend wherein most record
stores don’t stock old albums such as Frank Zappa’s
1968 album “Cruising With Ruben and the Jets”. Simply because it
can be bought with the click of a mouse, or instantly
downloaded from an online music service. This might all seem obvious,
but the implications are vast, complex
and not understood nearly well enough. You can read
the article here: nytimes.com/2006/07/08/business/08online.html?

Sir,
“Reordering society”, creating more disparity or broadening the conical part of the pyramid shaped social structure? What does the phrase mean. It sounds very ominous like ‘ New Economic Order”.
