Painful Administration, Suffering Citizens

It is very painful to watch the administration or lack of it which due to corruption not working and the citizens having to suffer. No government employee loses his job for shoddy work done. We pay their salaries through the taxes collected and yet nobody is made responsible.
I hold our politicians most responsible for the disaster that faces Mumbai during the rains and every year it gets worse. Interference with BMC in allowing people to stay in squatter colonies which are created on land which belongs to the Government thereby creating vote banks for themselves is a very important factor for our plight. Besides plastic being another serious threat to our environment.
Just look at the approach when one flies into Mumbai! Have all our so called leaders who over the years been flying in and out of Mumbai with blindfolds. Why could they not have taken preemptive action then.
The rehabilitation of the squatters is at the cost of the tax payer in many forms. Why should this be done and why is action not taken beginning at the top. The Minister at that time and the administrators should be pulled up and their pension and all retirement benefits withdrawn and they should be pilloried in the media. Only then with such drastic measures will our system improve.
A case in point is the campaign that is going on through the NDTV channel regarding bribes. Such propaganda would go a long way in awakening the people.
