Here are some oft-quoted euphemisms.
1. We should meet again to talk about no-brainers!! (Get the hint!!!! You did not make sense.)
2. You look different!! (Avoid this look the next time. You looked better earlier.)
3. You are just 24???? I mean, you are far mature for your age!! (God!!!!! You look older than you are.)
4. That’s a great write-up but wasn’t it a little long?? (You better practise precis writing. I got bored half-way through.)
5. We are not acquiring that company. Having said that we would like to clarify that we are evaluating various options for growth. (Of course we are acquiring the company but our chairman would like to make an official announcement later.)
6. It’s not that many people are leaving our company. A significant percentage of it has been forced attrition. We had to ask the under-performers to leave. (We don’t have a solution to the problem. Do you?)
7. Thanks for attending the interview. We will get back to you. (Good bye! We’d rather consider someone else.)
8. You look healthy now. You were too thin before. (What have you been eating? You have put on oodles of weight!)
9. You need to consider the kind of work that you will get to do over here. Employee value proposition includes much more than just monetary aspects. (Well, yes! We cannot pay as much as our competitors can.)
10. So are you happy with your current job? (Just checking if the news about you putting in your papers is true.)
